Since billions of microplastics have been found in those silken tea bags (which are actually made of plastic), a much healthier alternative is using loose tea instead.
I store organic loose tea in a reusable glass jar, and scoop up a spoonful in either one of my mesh strainers and soak them in a cup or stainless steel travel mug.I compost the tea leaves after they are used.
I have written about this before, but in case you missed it: only buy organically grown tea. Conventionally grown tea is heavily sprayed with pesticides, which aren’t washed off after the leaves are harvested and dried.
Frontier or Numi are my favorite brands.
