Canada is excited and honored to host World Environment Day 2017!

World Environment Day reminds us to take action to conserve and protect our natural environment. This year, the theme is “Connecting People to Nature.” We encourage citizens everywhere to discover their natural environment and to appreciate the benefits of clean air and water and healthy ecosystems.

On 5 June, go outside and show us that you’re #WithNature. Breathe in the beauty and remember that by keeping our planet healthy, we keep ourselves healthy too

World Environment Day (WED) occurs on June 5th every year, and is the United Nation’s principal vehicle for encouraging worldwide awareness and action for the protection of our environment. First held in 1974, it has been a flagship campaign for raising awareness on emerging environmental issues from marine pollution and global warming, to sustainable consumption and wildlife crime. WED has grown to become a global platform for public outreach, with participation from over 143 countries annually.
