The EWG (Environmental Working Group) is a non-profit non-partisan organization dedicated to protecting human health and the environment. EWG Verified is to educate consumers, empower people to make smart choices that will change the market.

#3 Open an account at a socially responsible bank or credit union

Instead of putting your money in large corporate banks, deposit your money in locally owned banks or credit unions that have a strong commitment to contributing to their community. It feels great that a number of financials institutions dedicate themselves to making sure your money helps rather than hurts people.
