Don’t Even Think About Turning the Air Conditioning on the Second you Get In your Car

Don’t Even Think About Turning the Air Conditioning on the Second you Get In your Car

Does you car’s owner’s manual tell you to roll down the windows to let out all the hot air before turning on the A/C? Do you know why?

Many of us are in our cars the first thing in the morning, and the last thing at night, 7 days a week. Please do NOT turn on A/C as soon as you enter the car.  Instead, open the windows after you enter your car and then after a minute or two, turn ON the A/C.

The reason why is that the car’s dashboard, seats, A/C ducts, in fact ALL of the components in your vehicle, emit Benzene, a cancer causing toxin. Benzene is a big carcinogen, which in addition to causing cancer, it also poisons your bones, causes anemia and reduces white blood cells, and it affects your kidneys and liver. The WHO (World Health Organization) has classified benzene as “carcinogenic to humans,” based on sufficient evidence that benzene causes acute myeloid leukemia (AML). IARC also notes that benzene exposure has been linked with acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL), chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), multiple myeloma, and non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

The  “acceptable” Benzene level indoors is: 50 mg per sq.ft. A car parked in an indoor parking spot, with windows closed, will contain 400-800 mg of Benzene – 8 times the acceptable level.

A car parked outdoors in the sun, at a temperature above 60 degrees F, the Benzene level goes up to 2000-4000 mg, 40 times the acceptable level.

Getting into your car, with the windows closed, you will inhale excessive amounts of the benzene toxin.

It’s extremely difficult for your body to expel the toxins.  So friends, please open the windows and doors of your car – give it some time for the interior to air out before you enter the vehicle.
