Coco de Mer

‘Coco de Mer’ is the largest and heaviest known seed in the world. In the 19^th century, sailors brought them back as prized exotic curiosities they found floating in the South Seas. ‘Coco de Mer’ come from a tall palm tree found on one of the 2 islands that make up the 115 Seychelles in the West Indian Ocean, and take 8 to 10 years to ripen on mature palm trees that are over 100 years old.
