E Ointment
I really like this very simple and natural skin ointment. I use it on my hands after I have been working in my garden, and before I settle down in front of my computer. It's made with Aloe Vera, Vitamin E and Wheat Germ oil.

Eat Cleaner

I always wash all fruit and vegetables before I eat them however that may not be enough. I was at an EWG dinner recently and met Mareya, who as a concerned mom, came up with this helpful product called "Eat Cleaner". The Eat Cleaner removes pathogens such as dreaded Salmonella and E.coli. It also removes waxes, contaminants, and harmful pesticides from produce. The Eat Cleaner is oderless, tasteless and biodegradable and increases shelf life of favorite fruits and vegetables. |

For the New Year, do yourself a huge favor and get rid of all beauty products you use that have Parabens in them (Methyl, Propyl, Butyl, Ethyl) because they are hormone disrupters and are linked to increased risk of cancer. Look at your Shampoo, Conditioner, Styling Gel, Hair Lotion, Body Lotion, Sunscreen and many types of Makeup. I use a couple of skincare products by Tata Harper |

According to Livescience.com, the most powerful weapon someone has during cold season is to go out, on a near-daily basis, and put in at least a 30-minute walk. More frequent exercise gets immune cells circulating and appears to put them on alert. |

My new favorite deep conditioner for winter dry hair: heat 1/2 cup of water and 1/2 cup of olive oil on the stove. When it cools enough to handle, slowly pour on your hair/scalp, massaging it all in. Wrap your head in a warm towel (I microwaved mine for 20 seconds) and leave on for an hour and then wash your hair. To relieve a cold, hang a bundle of eucalyptus from your shower curtain. The steam from a hot shower will release the naturally de-congesting eucalyptus oils. It is good for about 2 weeks. |

For the tea drinkers: Only use organic tea. Regular tea is full of pesticides, which aren't washed off when the leaves are picked. |

Do make sure that you wipe the lid of all cans, juice boxes, etc. before you open them. Many have nasty bacteria and germs from the rats doing the unmentionable whilst going to and fro around the warehouses where these products are stored. |

Bring your own thermos and food containers when you get take out coffee or food. Don't use Styrofoam containers because they are made with cancer causing benzene and the brain toxin styrene, which can migrate into your food. Plus, only 1% of the 15 million tons of polystyrene/Styrofoam made each year gets recycled. |

Do not drink bottled water that has been left in a car. The heat reacts with the chemicals in the plastic of the bottle, which then releases dioxin into the water. Dioxin is a toxin increasingly found in breast cancer tissue. |
