Dear Friends -

How about all of us thinking about this time in our lives as OUR time?  It's OUR time to dedicate ourselves to shifting our economy by what we buy, to an economy that spends its precious resources on what sustains health and well-being for people and planet.

This "OUR time" principle is one of the reasons I was inspired to start my business.   I looked for products that are good to our environment. I searched to support family businesses, like the families that are part of an organic cotton farm cooperative, and ordered their cotton balls for my store. I just found some wonderful locally made all natural soaps, so we all can get healthier as we get cleaner. These will be in my store any day now. Finding the soy candles and tea lights was a revelation to me. I had no idea that these even existed. So, I bought a whole bunch of them, so all of us can have clean burning candles, which are free of paraffin, a petroleum by-product.

I am learning just as everyone else is to make healthier and more responsible choices, now that I am better informed. I too want to live in a non toxic home, use products on myself that are natural and chemical free, and I wish the same for all of you: Good health.

Ingredients:
-  4 Salmon fillets
-  Grainy Dijon mustard
- 1/2 cup of panko (Japanese breadcrumbs) or 1/2 cup of crushed pine nuts, if you are wheat intolerant
- 1/4 cup of dried mixed herbs: basil, thyme, tarragon and parsley
- Olive oil
- 2 lemons/sliced into quarters
- salt and pepper
 
Preparation Steps:
1.  Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
 
 

 2.  Place 4 salmon fillets in a baking dish. Place lemon quarters around them.
3.  Spread mustard on top side of salmon only (and not on skin side)
3.  Mix in a bowl, the panko (or crushed pine nuts), dried herbs and 1 tablespoon of olive oil
4.  Sprinkle panko with herbs to lightly cover the mustard. You may have panko mixture leftover.
5.  Put in the oven, uncovered and cook for about 20 minutes.
6.  Suggested: serve with wild rice and salad.

  I have bought so many of these bottles of Lemonade over the years, and instead of recycling them, I have been re-using them as water bottles. They look just as cool at luncheon as they do at a dinner party.

   How to unblock a plugged drain without using a toxic Draino-type product: Measure a cup of baking powder pour it down the drain. Then pour a 1/2 cup vinegar down following it.  Wait 10 minutes and then pour boiling water from a tea kettle down the drain. Works every time!
  Do not drink bottled water that has been left in a car. The heat reacts with the chemicals in the plastic of the bottle which releases dioxin into the water. Dioxin is a toxin increasingly found in breast cancer tissue.
