April 2009 Newsletter

Dear Friends -

Welcome to PriscillaWoolworth.com! Now that spring has arrived with its new beginnings, I am pleased to send you the first installment of my monthly newsletter. Each issue will feature the latest products added to the store, tips for making your home more energy efficient and non-toxic, environmental news from local to international, plus great movie and book recommendations.

When my ancestors opened the doors to Woolworth's, they created a space where people could come together as a community.  I hope to do the same thing on the Internet with my general store. Connect with me on Facebook, MySpace and Twitter. Stay tuned for my blog, coming out soon.  I am excited about the potential we all have by sharing our wealth of knowledge, so we can make the Earth a better place for our children, the trees, the oceans and the animals.

Best wishes to all of you!

Your truly,

Priscilla Woolworth

This month, Vogue featured one of my baskets! Proceeds from the sale of these baskets help to provide health care for the weavers and their families, school supplies for the children of the weavers and build community weaving centers for several villages of weavers. You can either purchase the basket on it’s own or the one I put together, full of eco-friendly products, such as a solar powered flashlight, stainless steel reusable water bottle, CFL, recycled aluminum foil and many more things. A great gift for someone who wants to learn about and use eco-products.
Lizzie Garrett visited my home this month and wrote a great post in her blog, DESIGNwatcher.com. Check it out if you'd like to take a tour.  It was an honor to read Lizzie's kind words, especially since her site compiles some of the best design resources and ideas I've seen on the net!

I strongly recommend that you check out "Fuel," the film the Los Angeles Times calls "a vital, superbly assembled documentary," about biofuels and America's dependence on foreign oil.  The film's message is filled with hope and confidence that we can change our future by working together.
